Hailing from the south shore of Massachusetts, Walter The Producer has recently released SLOW DOWN, a song that’s an eclectic blend of sounds. It’s a catchy and intriguing treat, with strong inspiration drawn from Sundress by Tame Impala and A$AP Rocky.
Do you wanna slow down?
“I made ‘SLOW DOWN’ at my grandma’s house in Rhode Island (I record most of my songs there). I was searching online for inspiration – anything that might spark an idea. As I was scrolling I came across this cool baritone voice sample and I quickly downloaded it. I put it in Serato Sample (a sample plug in) and started to play with it. I ended up pitching and speeding it up and it became the focal point of the track. As it was playing I grabbed my guitar and started to mess around with some chords until I found the ones that sounded the best to me. After I finished the beat I recorded a melody pass and then just kinda forgot about it for a month. I ended up stumbling back on to it listening to beats on my laptop and was like ‘I got to finish this.’ So I locked myself in my room and finished writing it.”
