2016 turns out to be not only a terrible year regarding artists’ losses, but also one of significant disbandments. American synthpop/ indie pop duo Chairlift announced their split-up (will take place in Spring 2017 after their final shows) after a great 12 year productive period, three albums and several EPs. Caroline Polachek will pursue a solo career while Patrick Wimberly will be involved with full-time record producing.
