Hailing from Brooklyn, Honeysucker has recently made a noteworthy debut with their single Honeydeux. The track is a delightful fusion of yacht rock and brit pop, with a sprinkle of new wave/post punk, all wrapped in an unmistakable 80s nostalgic vibe that’s bound to get under your skin. Listening to this song evokes a strong desire to dig out all those VHS tapes from the murky cellar, dust off the MEGADRIVE, make a telephone call on my old rotary dial telephone, and rewatch classics like Labyrinth and Moonlighting TV series. It’s a yearning to return to those glorious days of the ’80s when everything seemed just right, even if it was a bit kitschy.
….Yup, miss that emotion, but at least I have Honeysucker!
