My Pet Fossil’s Michael P. Fossil comes charging in with a raw punk attitude, sharp guitars and a deliberately abrasive energy that refuses to smooth out the edges. The track feels restless and confrontational, channeling frustration into a fast moving performance that keeps the focus on attitude and directness. There is a strong sense of dissatisfaction running through the song, but My Pet Fossil turn that tension into something loud, immediate and darkly playful rather than simply miserable. The rougher production character works in its favor, giving the guitars and vocals a physical presence that feels close to the room. Michael P. Fossil has the spirit of a basement show pushed through a concrete wall, with enough melodic instinct underneath the noise to keep the track moving. It is punk music with personality, humor and plenty of bite.
Concrete, frustration and punk with a pulse.
