Old Heavy Hands, from Greensboro, North Carolina, is steadily paving the way for their upcoming new album, Small Fires (set to release on January 19). A great teaser for this album is their track Coming Down. This cosmic country number evolves into a massive grunge-infused sound with call-and-response vocals that evoke memories of Vedder and Cornell’s Temple of the Dog. The song is a morning-after-the-party lament, with Hall’s conscience weighed down by broken noses and regret, as echoed in the refrain:
“I’m Coming Down / Time’s running out.”
