Based in Lisbon, Portugal, born in Los Angeles and growing up in Philadelphia, Shirlé Hale is a vocalist, bassist, and multi-instrumentalist with a serious experince of over 30 years fronting various indie rock bands. She recently released her debut solo project titled The Silver Garden on Brooklyn label Declared Goods, and among its standout tracks is Never Be The Same, a song that “literally came out of nowhere, written in a matter of minutes along with the lyrics,” states Shirlé. “It felt like some sort of cyclical meditation, almost like a chant that needed to just continue spinning and looping over and over, trying to convey the immense feelings of loss about how we were all left behind to wonder where Tom is now and how changed our lives became from his death.
