Toronto rock trio The Vaniers dive into their early 2000s influences with their new single, Painted Town, taken from their recently released EP of the same name. Blending post-britpop, acid funk, and electronica, the track features a pulsating piano line played on a Hammond Cadet organ, which bassist/vocalist Diego Paz rediscovered in his basement. Inspired by the FIFA footy anthems of their youth, Painted Town serves as a high-energy pump-up song designed to get listeners excited for what’s next. Guitarist Alex Iacobellis notes that the song is infused with nostalgia, reflecting the impact of childhood music on their current sound, crafted for their ten-year-old selves who once cranked up the volume.
